Data and Information Modelling

A new pilot course, covering how ISO and OGC methodologies are used for describing data and information features, including computer based exercises that demonstrate how this is done in practice.

Workshop Objectives: the workshop will teach delegates how methodologies and components from OGC and ISO/TC 211 are used to define data-models for geospatial and related information, how these are expressed as data transfer formats, and how to deploy web-based services to provide access to data using these models and formats. The workshop will include computer based exercises that demonstrate how this is done in practice.

Knowledge required before attending: UML class diagrams, XML, basic XML schema.
