Description
To improve Google and other search engine rankings it might be beneficial to include a meaningful web page title, description and keywords to the search page.
Web page title: Up to ~ 64 characters; concise; include important keywords. Description: Up to ~ 150 characters, if possible include important keywords and provide a description of what following the Google link will result in. Keywords: Up to 20 words or phrases – If these are included in web page title, description or text it improves the ranking scores.
I would suggest something like:
Page title: Search the NERC DataGrid? (NDG) Catalogue for environmental data.
Description: The NERC Data Discovery Service allows you to find data resources held within the NERC Data Centres and other providers in the UK and worldwide.
Keywords: NERC, DataGrid?, NDG, Natural Environment Research Council, environmental data, Data Centres, archives, metadata, catalogue, inventory, oceanographic, marine, atmospheric, ………….
Where? In the headers? What is the syntax?
