At the May 06 WG meeting, Siva said they would be moving off livglue at some point, which may have an effect on NDG. The timeframe was estimated at approximately 3 months (Sept/Oct?).

This ticket raised to track the issue/inform the WG team.

In future BODC's LIVGRID machine(s) (grid.bodc.nerc.ac.uk) will be avialable to access NDG services officially. (Date not set for migrating yet). Until then Livglue will still be accessible from GLUE.

The timing of this migration is currently uncertain depending on how the level of success of a joint BODC/POL capital bid. There is a meeting in the first week of July that should give me a clearer picture.

I would predict the effect on NDG would be minimal - simply changing a couple of IP addresses in firewall rukes should implement the migration. The LIVGLUE identity might also continue to exist as this is an alias and not the actual machine name.

The new NDG Development server is LIVJADE now.

Did you say that if this happens it will be outside NDG2 timescales?
